The Scarborough Blizzard Youth Soccer Club was formed
in 1975 through the amalgamation of the Mid-Caledonia Soccer Club
and the Cedarbrae Soccer Club. These predecessor clubs had been in
operation since the mid-1960s.This merger brought together two dynamic
groups of volunteers and provided more young people with the opportunity
to play soccer. The Scarborough Blizzard Youth Soccer Club provides
the youth of Scarborough (Toronto) and surrounding areas with the
opportunity to participate and develop their skills in the sport of
soccer. The Scarborough Blizzard Youth Soccer Club is a volunteer
directed sports organization, registered as 'not for profit' and is
dedicated to the development of youth soccer using fair play and fun
as developmental principles.
The Club continued to expand gradually over the years. However,
over the
last 10 years, the Club has expanded from primarily a house league
club of
300 athletes to an outstanding membership of more than 1000 participants
playing with the Club's Rep, Select and House League teams from
the ages of 4 -18. |
